We would like to extend our congratulations to Monique and John on their recent engagement. We were commissioned by one of Monique’s closets friend Barbara (the Beautiful Stranger) to photograph Monique and John in their element in around of Chicago. We had fun spending the day with them and really got to know them as a couple who truly enjoys their company.

I’ve known Asisat since 1999 her freshman year of High School. Asisat and my younger sister (Jessica) have been very close friends for quite some time attending high school and college together. So it comes as no surprise that I was ecstatic when Ben proposed to her. I know that Asisat really loves Ben and how much spending the rest of their lives together meant to her.

I’ll be honest, more or less when Anyeka and I discuss themes, locations, and general settings with couples we pretty much have an idea of how an engagement shoot will go. For some reason, on this shoot we had nothing leading up to the shooting hour. I love how this shoot evolved into an “Evening with Asisat & Ben.”

We spent an afternoon in New York City with Fritzie and Stephen who drove up from Pennsylvania to meet us. We had a great time hanging with them and creating awesome photos to add to their engagement story. We’re looking forward to shooting their wedding next summer in PA.

Lets face it, the rain sucks. Rain can be responsible for changing many planned activities. Picnics, outdoor games, or a walk in the park can all turn bad quickly if rain decides to fall. On the flip side, the rain can be responsible for being the catalyst for our most intimate moments. Getting close, sharing an umbrella, finding shelter, snuggling are all things we do when we’re wet and cold.

Lakisha and Rob are a really great couple. Despite the gloomy weather, they toughed it out and we did the majority of the shoot in the rainy, cold weather.

A special shout out to Annalee & Jaritza, two of Lakisha’s friends that came along for the shoot. They held clothes, umbrella’s, even my lenses and lighting equipment. Thank you ladies, I really do appreciate you being good sports and helping me! I won’t forget it

In June Anyeka and I shot Janet & Adrian’s engagement shoot in upper Manhattan at Riverside Park. We had a good ole time. Janet and Adrian are like our long lost Jamaican family. We had “nuff joke”. I’m so honored they chose me to be their wedding photographer. I love everything they are about and what they stand for.
