Alicia & Jeff Married on the Riverside

A co-worker of Jeff’s tried to fix them up in 2007 but they both resisted the idea of a blind date. A year later Jeff and Alicia met by chance on a business trip to California and they’ve been together ever since.

All of their friends and family members knew that Alicia and Jeff were meant to be married, but the lingering question was simply, when would they make it official? Jeff didn’t want to propose on Valentine’s Day or her birthday or while gazing at the Cliffs of Mohr in Ireland. He wanted to do it when she least expected it.
Alicia was awoken early one Saturday morning, October 10, 2010 to see Jeff standing before her with a large bouquet of flowers and a bag of her favorite New York bagels. He got down on one knee and proposed like a true romantic.

Our Albums

Posted on January 5, 2012

I thought it might be worth while to show samples of our clients albums. Each of our clients receive a fully customized wedding and/or engagement album from start to finish. We adore designing & creating albums for our clients because we believe these are the true storytellers of their wedding day. There is nothing better than a tangible album to hold and pass on to their children for generations to come. We love BIG books, we’ve never designed any album less than 30 pages and nothing less than 38 pages in 2011.

Wedding by Nature! – Carol & Shiloh

They have two completely different backgrounds yet things just work. Carol a southern bell, born and raised in Mobile, Alabama and Shiloh a city slicker from birth who calls Trenton, NJ his home. They met at a dinner held by friends and family. When Shiloh heard Carol’s ‘Southern’ voice , his attention was peaked and the NJ swag was all the way turned up! Shiloh continued to connect with Carol after their initial conversation and he quickly knew that he had met his wife.

From capturing their NYC engagement session (here) to documenting their day was a blast! Their friends and family from all over the nation came to celebrate with them. We’re extremely blessed they asked us to play a role.

We had the pleasure of a fellow wedding photographer and friend Chad Pennington second shoot for me on this wedding. As always Anyeka and I enjoy Chad’s company and his ability to always deliver awesome work. Some of the photographs in this post were taken by him.

2011 was our year!

Posted on December 30, 2011

I thought about writing about our 2011 wedding season and speaking about how great our clients have been but as I write I’ve decided to flip the script. This post will be about us, Anyeka and myself.

It has been a phenomenal year we’ve experienced a ton of highs and our share of lows but we thank God we made it through. When evaluating the goals we’ve made it is truly a blessing to say that we’ve met them all. Anyeka and I have learned so much in terms of the art and business of wedding photography. Us having being clients ourselves this year has allowed us to genuinely feel exactly how our clients feel and understand the importance that photography plays on their wedding day.

Wedding photography is a tough competitive business, we would like to thank our family, friends, current and past clients for their continued support. We could not and cannot do what we do without you all.

(Updated 1/1/2011) - Last but not least – I would like to thank my good friend Chad and his wife Denise. Chad has been instrumental in helping me step out of my comfort zone to try new things. I remember once this year he literally forced me to do something I wanted to do, but was reluctant to try. He is also responsible for delivering AMAZING (second shooter) work at more than a few of the weddings I’ve shot this year. Thank you Chad for your willingness!

Here’s to a better, way more awesome 2012 here at Joshua Dwain Photography!

- Josh

Behind the Scenes + Bloopers

Posted on December 27, 2011

We often display the nice pretty pictures we take during the wedding day, however we’re human and at times prone to make mistakes :) Here are “some” of our behind the scenes & blooper images from our 2011 wedding season.

I have the app from the Geico commercial, I thought it was hilarious for a few weeks. For some reason I decided to play with the app at Antoinette & Edson’s wedding.
