Last week I introduced the world (and my viewers) to Aimi and Ajani. When I met with Aimi and her sister Dana at a small Starbucks near Wall Street a few months ago, she told me that we were destined to meet. And not only that, but that I was destined to be her wedding photographer. I didn’t really think much of her statement, until…
I was on the I-95 driving down to Maryland to shoot a wedding and about an hour into NJ while driving in the middle lane I just happened to look to my left side and I saw a girl who looked sort of familiar. At first I was convinced that I was mistaken. I then thought to myself “Is that Aimi’s sister? That’s weird.” The reason why it was so weird was because we were driving in the middle of New Jersey. Who would have thought that I would see someone I knew, much less someone I met once before? So while barreling down the Interstate, I called Aimi to ask her “Would your sister happen to be on the I-95 in NJ?” She replied “Possibly; she’s on her way to Maryland!” Then she told me that she (Aimi) would be driving down to Maryland the very next day as well. I told her it was such a weird coincidence and she replied with “See, I told you, we were destined to meet!” I said “You know what, I think you’re right”. So, to make a long story short, my buddy Leo (from George Rowe Photography, who was my 2nd photographer for the wedding) and I went out to Fridays later that night and meet up with her sister, cousins, and friends who will be in Aimi’s wedding next year. It’s not every day you meet half the bridal party in an entirely different state than where the wedding will take place.
Back to more recent times, Aimi, Ajani and I eventually met up to do their engagement photos earlier this month. They were a pleasure to photograph (seriously), they were really, really cool and pretty laid back. A joy to be around. Here are a few of my ‘favs’ from their engagement session…
I love silhouettes… I can shoot them all day!
Love this shot!
I love this shot TOO!
Aimi and Ajani are avid dog lovers (both with dogs of their own) and they are looking at a Dalmation nearby. Close ups down below.
I’m happy the sun decided to show its face right before sundown. We got some great lighting.
You can see the moon in the shot below!
One last playful photo
